Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has called for the FA to be given the power to take retrospective action against cheats.

His comments come in the wake of Bakary Sako's red card against Watford after Fernando Forestieri went down clutching his face.

The dismissal was later overturned after the FA studied video evidence, but Moxey feels the Argentina striker should have been punished for his actions.

In his programme notes for Tuesday's game against Sheffield Wednesday, Moxey wrote: "We were pleased to have received the expected confirmation from the FA rescinding Bakary Sako's red card following our appeal for his sending off.

"It must have been a very easy decision for the panel to make.

"I think the whole game needs to do more to acknowledge that the sort of behaviour that led to Bakary's sending off is unacceptable.

"In fact, such behaviour should, in my mind, be punishable by a retrospective punishment, if, as in this case, it was designed to get a fellow professional sent off.

"Luckily it didn't affect the outcome of the match.

"Nevertheless, there is no place in the game for any kind of cheating in football.

"I will be raising this issue with the football authorities to see if we can create an environment which helps eradicate such dishonesty in the future."
