Goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has been handed a vote of confidence by Wolves boss Kenny Jackett.

The former Albion and Manchester United custodian had an indifferent return to Brighton on Saturday.

He allowed Bruno's opener under him and spilled Joao Teixeira's shot that led to Craig Mackail-Smith's offside effort.

But head coach Jackett insists he hasn't considered dropping the 32-year-old for tonight's visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

"No, I haven't. I think, all things being equal, he'll play tonight," said Jackett.

"He's done very well and particularly initially when he came in for Carl Ikeme because he hadn't played for a long time.

"Tomasz will be disappointed at the goal going back to Brighton, definitely.

"But overall since he's come in for Carl, he's been very solid and the points record with him is very good.

"There will always be mistakes - probably both goalkeepers would be disappointed with the goals they conceded on Saturday."

Jackett is happy Kuszczak won't be affected by his error.

"He won't let that bother him - I said to him straight after the game on Saturday 'all that matters now is Tuesday night'," said Jackett.

"It's not something he needs to dwell on - he has to move forward and show the type of consistency and form he's done for us because he's had a high number of very good games and made some excellent saves.

Ikeme is set to be out for another two weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Meanwhile, Wolves admit they will struggle to keep Under-21s coach Scott Sellars if Oldham want to appoint him as their manager.

The 49-year-old is joint favourite for the Latics post and it was speculated that he was set to meet Boundary Park officials on Sunday only for talks to be cancelled.

Wolves haven't received an approach for the former Manchester City academy head.

But Jackett said: "An opportunity to go from an Under-21 manager to first-team manager is generally a positive step.

"Any club would recognise and see that. I'd think everybody has ambition and it's a compliment if other clubs are looking at your staff as possible managers."
