The 19-year-old Welshman has been snapped up by the Molineux club after impressing as a trialist for their under-21s.

Harris, who played for the under-21s against Brighton at Telford tonight, was a youngster at Manchester City but was released by the Premier League champions.

He was spotted for Wolves while with the Nike Academy - a squad of players released by professional clubs are supported by Nike and the Premier League.

He worked previously at City with current Wolves Under-21s boss Scott Sellars.

Wolves Head of Football Development and Recruitment Kevin Thelwell said: "Callum is a player who has been well known to Scott.

"He was at Manchester City prior to being in the Nike Academy. We then saw him play for Nike Academy, where he did very well.

"Matt Murray, who works with that squad, also gave him a very good reference. He has been with us for the last three or four weeks and done really well.

"He's got a good personality and is a very good footballer, and we think he has got the potential to being an important part of that Under-21 squad going forwards.

"He is a central midfield player, who can play as a number four, eight or ten, and has operated in all of those positions while he has been here.

"Now he has signed up, he can really settle in. We are really pleased he has signed and looking forward to seeing his true potential."

Harris completed his medical last Friday and has signed a contract tying him to Molineux until the summer of 2016, with a further year's option in the club's favour.
