Angry Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is to appeal Bakary Sako's red card after accusing "embarrassing" Fernando Forestieri of getting him sent off.

Sako was dismissed for the first time in England after a clash with the Watford substitute, who collapsed clutching his face.

That was despite there appearing to be no contact from the Wolves winger, who was pushed by the Argentinian in the 2-2 draw.

The 11-goal top scorer faces a three-match ban unless Wolves can get it overturned.

At the injury-time incident which occurred right in front of him, Jackett said: "I've seen it again.

"From Forestieri's point of view, it's embarrassing and poor to throw yourself to the floor like that and get another professional sent off.

"I didn't think he raised his hand or reacted to the player at all and we'll be appealing. It was a harsh red card and a poor decision. It's quite clear.

"Once I'd seen the situation again, I'd be appealing whatever the case and whoever the player if someone has been harshly treated and is in the right.

"I wouldn't say I'm confident we'll win the appeal – that's up to somebody else. But I'm confident in my opinion. The incident was right in front of me, and I watched it further."

Sako's red card was one of two injury-time dismissals, after Watford left-back Tommie Hoban went for two bookings for fouls on Rajiv Van La Parra.

Meanwhile, Jackett, who gave his players the day off today after five games in 15 days, believes Wolves did enough to beat Watford.

He said: "We were disappointed not to have won because we put on a good performance in a very good game.

"We got ourselves in good positions and we'd have expected to win. We had chances at 2-1 to put the game away."
