Kenny Jackett today admitted if Razak Boukari plays for Wolves this season it will be a bonus.

The luckless winger is set for yet another return to full training this week as he bids to come back from calf and groin niggles in recent months after a hamstring operation last summer.

Head coach Jackett said yesterday he is prepared to allow Michael Jacobs to leave on loan.

But the Molineux chief doesn't think Boukari, who has 16 months left on his four-year contract, could be a replacement for the former Derby man and doesn't expect to see the 27-year-old in his first team this season.

"That's not something I'm thinking about," said Jackett.

"Realistically speaking, to expect him to play in the Championship this season is not something we're planning.

"If it happens it will be an added bonus.

"With Razak's injury record over the last few seasons I don't think it's realistic to rely on him coming in.

"If he does play then I'm open to it and the club are open to it.

"We'll give him every encouragement to do that and we sincerely hope he does."

Jackett believes Boukari, who has played just four league games for Wolves since his £2.5m signing from Rennes in August 2012, spend the rest of the campaign edging closer to full fitness.

"He'll be back and in training this week," said the boss, who still hasn't seen Boukari play in his two years, nine months in charge.

"With the way things have gone for him he'll need a fair bit of training before he plays.

"He'll be back in training and we'll really hope he can crack it because he's a smashing lad, a very good personality.

"We think he's due a little bit of luck and hopefully he gets that bit of luck to stay fit and show everybody what he can do."
