Boss Kenny Jackett believes Kevin Doyle is likely to make more appearances in a Wolves shirt following his surprise return against Rotherham.

The 31-year-old striker made a cameo from the substitutes' bench in Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of the Millers – his first outing in gold and black since January 2014.

And despite talks on a move to Colorado Rapids continuing, Jackett is happy to utilise Doyle during a run that sees Wolves play five games in 15 days.

The Wolves head coach said: "I think we will see more of Kevin Doyle. Looking at the set-up of the forwards we have, Kevin is the right person at the moment to complement our young strikers.

"In many of the games, at different times, we are going to have to go for it and go for wins, even if it opens us up.

"Looking at the situation with Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday there is the opportunity of more game time for Kevin.

"He will make the ball stick and can win a header and has experience which the other strikers don't necessarily have."

Jackett confirmed Doyle's proposed move to Major League Soccer is still being discusses, but feels he needs more fire power in reserve after he reverted to playing with two strikers.

He said: "The move to America is still ongoing, but in the meantime if it is right for me to play him then I will do that.

"There was nothing in the Rotherham game that would discourage me from using Kevin again. And him alongside one quick striker is something that can help us.

"We have adjusted our system slightly with the second forward because we do need more goals and we need to go for it.

"Kevin comes in as a natural complement to the other strikers and he can do a good job for us."
