With 15 games to go they are five points adrift of the top six and have been struggling for momentum, with just one win in their last five ahead of tomorrow's visit of Rotherham.

And after setting his team a target of 80 points to realise their play-off dream earlier in the week, the head coach accepts there can be few slip-ups.

He said: "Wherever you are and whatever you do, if you've got a sprint finish you've got a chance. We need a sprint finish now. Luckily we are in position.

"We're within touching distance of the promotion places and in this 15-game period, where there are 45 points to play for.

"There is still a third of the season to go so a good points total here will put us in a position to attack the top.

"Hopefully momentum can build up, but it's OK saying that, we need to put up the performances that warrant that and can earn tha.

"The sides at the top of the division do look very good and quite incisive at the moment."

The head coach has rejected thoughts that his players might be tiring ahead of a period where they play five games in 15 days.

He said: "There shouldn't be (tiredness). We've had a clear week. We have two Tuesdays now and five games in 15 days, so it's a really good chance to pick up a lot of points.

"We will only do that by putting in top-class performances, having energy, enthusiasm and quality and creating chances.

"We have to have (enough energy) and if I need to vary the side and go from one game to another with a slight change or two, then I will have to do that as well.

"That's the challenge of the Championship."
