Two goals in as many first-half minutes earned AFC Telford victory over Wolves Under-21s.more

Connor Hunte put the visitors ahead when his fourth-minute corner fooled trialist keeper Luke Simpson in the Bucks goal.

But Tony Gray tapped home Sam Smith's cross to level before the latter got what proved to be the winner when he lobbed Wolves keeper Jon Flatt.

The Bucks named Simpson in their starting line-up and if he had been hoping to impress during his trial, he made a bad start.

That said, Hunte's corner delivery did seem to move in the air as it fooled the youngster and landed in the net to give Wolves – who included first -teamer Lee Evans in their starting line-up – the lead. Opposite number Flatt had to be alert when he raced out to clear with Gray bearing down on goal.

He was beaten soon after when the Bucks striker hammered a free-kick from the edge of the box but the ball cannoned off a post. Evans went close to a second with a lob which Simpson watched onto the roof of the net.

But Telford then turned the game on its head with two goals in as many minutes on the half-hourmark.

Gray arrived at the far post to turn home Smith's low cross and level the scores. The latter then gave the Bucks the advantage when he latched on to Godfrey Poku's clever pass and lobbed Flatt from just inside the box.

Wolves should have been level before the break when Simpson made a hash of punching away a looping Evans cross and the ball fell straight to Donovan Wilson, who pulled his shot wide from eight yards.

For much of the second half Wolves had the upper hand without ever fashioning a leveller, Ben O'Hanlon's off target drive proving to be their final chance.
