Six days ago the Wolves winger scored a Goal of the Season contender to earn Kenny Jackett's side an unlikely point and a 2-2 draw at Bolton.

The 25-year-old, who was born in Reading and spent the early years of his career there, also netted in the fixture at the Madejski Stadium back in September in a 3-3 draw.

Now Henry wants a repeat to rock his old pals tomorrow, saying: "It's always a nice feeling to play against the team I grew up supporting and playing for.

"It would be nice to get another goal against Reading but I'm sure my old friends there won't be too happy if I do.

"It will be nice to see a few familiar faces but we want to kick on and try to win our home games.

"So we want to take the point we got at Bolton and turn it into three more points at home."

Wolves go into tomorrow's game in confident mood on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run during which they have conceded only four times.

It's the team's longest sequence without a loss at Championship level since Glenn Hoddle's side set a club record 21 matches unbeaten from January to August 2005, although 11 of those were draws.

And Henry is convinced Jackett's team can extend their run to regain their spot in the top six, saying: "I think so – everyone is confident and believes in their own ability and our quality as a team.

"The manager has tried to instil that in us that we're good enough and we shouldn't fear anyone.

"So we're looking up rather than over our shoulders."

James Henry celebrates a goal during his Reading days.

Wolves weren't at their best last weekend as it looked for long periods as if they would lose before Henry's stunning strike, but the former Millwall player believes that's not a bad thing.

He said: "Sometimes that's a sign of a good team – not playing to your full potential and yet still picking up points. We've got the squad – we've just got to all believe we can get there.

"I think there have been a lot of games where we believe we could do better – even sometimes when we have won.

"But games like Saturday when we weren't at our best when we went away from home and still come away from a Bolton team who have been good of late and get a point keeps that confidence going.

"Hopefully we can build on that."

Henry epitomised the sort of spirit needed if Wolves are to achieve their aim by responding in style after being dropped to the bench at the Macron Stadium.

And he believes the whole squad need to show the same attitude, saying: "It's never going to be the 11 starting that are always going to win you games.

"Sometimes you need something off the bench or changes throughout the season.

"We've got a good squad here and we're going to need all 20 players for the rest of the season if we're going to challenge for the top six or top two.

"Look at someone like Michael Jacobs – he's a fantastic player but he hasn't had much game time this season.

"We've got people like that on the bench and that shows how good our squad is.

"We've got Bakary Sako to come back and I don't know if anything is going to happen in the loan window next week, but you need a squad."

While he might not approve of the decision to replace him, Henry sees the bigger picture and is philosophical about it.

He said: "These things happen – you can't guarantee form for the whole season. Some games aren't going to go your way and the manager feels he needs to change it.

"It's disappointing not playing as well as I can and I was disappointed to get subbed at half-time the other week, but that's football.

"Whenever I come on get my next chance, I just try to take it. You just have to keep going and do what you can do to influence the team.

"Hopefully I did that on Saturday and helped us get a valuable point."

Henry admits he hasn't looked as effective at wide left, saying: "For some reason coming in off the left wing seems to work better away from home.

"At Blackburn it worked really well but in the two home matches since it didn't work so well. Hopefully, if get the chance tomorrow, it will."
