Wolves' new-boy Benik Afobe was today backed to remind former loan club Bolton what they are missing this weekend.

Afobe is preparing for a reunion at the Macron Stadium on Saturday with the club he served on loan in 2012-13.

The 21-year-old scored twice in five starts for Bolton plus another 15 appearances off the bench, with Sam Ricketts a team-mate.

He even netted his first Championship goal for the Trotters against Stale Solbakken's Wolves in a 2-2 draw at Molineux on October 23, 2012.

But he has been telling team-mates the boot is very much on the other foot now.

And captain Danny Batth believes the ex-Arsenal prospect is ready to deliver a timely blow to Bolton.

The skipper said: "It's always the case, like when Leon Clarke went back to Sheffield Wednesday. You always see old strikers scoring against old clubs, so it would be nice for us if he did the same on Saturday."

He believes Afobe has all the qualities to become a Molineux favourite over the next few years.

Batth said: "Time will tell, but he's got all the pedigree and the full package really as far as being a forward.

"His attitude is right too – he seems like a nice lad who wants to kick on."

Meanwhile, Batth insists he is expecting a good, clean contest at Bolton. The last time the sides met, David Davis's season was ended by a tackle by Jay Spearing.

But Batth said: "They'll just try to be fair and, likewise, we'll be competitive."
