One more signing the target for Wolves boss

Boss Kenny Jackett today declared he is looking to make just one more signing to strengthen Wolves' promotion-chasing squad this month.

Wolves have been linked with a host of names before and after landing striker Benik Afobe from Arsenal for £2m.

QPR's right-sided forward Matt Phillips, Villa winger Jack Grealish, Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios and Crawley defender Joe Walsh are the latest players to have been dismissed out of hand as possible Jackett targets.

But either way, he wants to land one more target – even if Bakary Sako stays – which is understood to be an attacking player. Wolves' plan would only change if there were significant bids for Leon Clarke or Michael Jacobs.

"There won't be wholesale changes – if anyone comes in, it will be a maximum of one, whoever that will be," said the Molineux chief. "Circumstances will dictate that but there is no one coming in right now. As a maximum there would only be one."

As Jackett continues to look at potential targets, he wants more 'snap' about his team after being in control but lacking penetration in the 2-0 win against Blackpool last Saturday after it took until the 86th minute to break the deadlock.

"We didn't get enough shots in early on," he said. "But you also have to consider the week we'd had (with the FA Cup replay). However this weekend I'm looking for the side to have full energy."

Scott Golbourne (foot) is available but Kortney Hause is expected to start.
