Molineux was falling down the whole place in decay

This famous club once Europe's best was now in disarray

Mismanagement and owners greed had ripped our club apart

For those of us who witnessed it, it fairly broke our heart

And on the pitch our team was poor no pride left in the shirt

It seemed that no one gave a damn and no one shared our hurt

Those days back then were dark and bleak the conference league had beckoned

But a man named Jack pure gold and black on him no one had reckoned

For Out of darkness cometh light that's what our motto says

And though we didn't know it, ahead lay happy days

Just like the phoenix from the flames the Wolves would rise again

This man named Jack pure gold and black would take away our pain

And so it came he bought the club and promised us out loud

I will build for you a stadium of which you can be proud

Sir Jack Hayward at his beloved Molineux

True to his word he did just that, and then he gave much more

With pride restored and hope renewed the wolf was at the door

He promised us he'd lead us back and turn our club around

A team we could be proud of to play in our new ground

The road was long and often tough but we knew we would be back

For at the helm a diehard fan who's name we knew was Jack

And then one day in Cardiff, our dreams our hopes came true

He took us back to where we belong and saw his promise through

And on that day in Cardiff when we looked up at the screen

He gave us all a thumbs up as we realized our dream

Today the club it prospers, and the future's looking bright

Jack proved to us the motto's true from the darkness cometh light

So if like me you're a dingle and your blood runs gold and black

The next time you're in Molineux say thank you to the legend, the legend that is Jack
