Kortney Hause has called on Wolves to keep putting their bodies on the line after claiming all is to play for in the New Year.

The teenage defender believes Kenny Jackett's side displayed their burning desire to win during Sunday's 2-1 home win over Brentford.

Wolves survived a late onslaught from the visitors to preserve the three points after defending strongly throughout. Hause, who has started every game of their current four-match unbeaten run, admits the same commitment will be required if they are to keep pushing towards the top six.

"It was getting a bit tense out there," said the 19-year-old. "We defended well as a team, there were people putting their bodies on the line and it just shows how much we want to win and do well for each other, do well for the gaffer.

"To win games like that, you have to show a lot of character, dig deep and work hard.

"We are three points off the play-offs now and it just shows how a few wins on the spin can put you right in the thick of things again. We just want to carry on our good form.

"There is plenty to play for."

Wolves now have a break from league action and are preparing to face Fulham in the FA Cup this Saturday.

Hause will miss the game as he is cup tied having already played in the competition this season while on loan at League One Gillingham.

The youngster is hopeful of regaining his place when league action resumes at Blackburn on Sunday week but insists, while his first foray into Championship football is going well, he will not get carried away.

"I'm taking it one game at a time, focusing on the next match and taking it as it comes," he said. "I'm looking to work hard, stay focused and stay in the team.

"The leagues are different but playing against men helps. I have gained a lot of experience from being out on loan at Gillingham and it has held me in good stead."

"You learn and experience things in different games, different levels. I have played under-21s which has helped me but this is completely different – you just have to adapt."
