Boss Kenny Jackett believes his Wolves striking options have never been stronger – but admits they will be tested by next month's African Cup of Nations.

The return of Nouha Dicko from injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with 10-man Brighton and Hove Albion gave his side a welcome boost.

Wolves finished the game with an attacking quartet of Dicko, Bakary Sako, Rajiv van La Parra and Leon Clarke that excited Jackett.

But the boss admitted likely Mali call-ups for Sako and Dicko for the tournament in Morocco starting on January 17 were a concern.

Jackett said: "Bakary is a player we are going to miss in January and there is the possibility of Nouha going as well – we know that.

"It's about making sure that along the front line we've got as many possibilities as we can have.

"The good thing is that the transfer window is opening during that period and we have the time to do something about it.

"But on Saturday, we finished with a front four of van La Parra, Clarke, Sako and Dicko with James Henry and Danny Graham coming off.

"On any other day those roles could be reversed with different combinations.

"To win consistently in this league you do need those type of permutations and strong ones to make sure that if you don't start the game well you certainly do finish the game well."

If called up by Mali, Sako and Dicko could miss as many as five Championship games in January and February.

And after seeing them reunited on Saturday following Dicko's hamstring problem, Jackett admitted the double act are tough to replace.

He added: "They do combine very well and one can spark off the other. When they are together there is a good chemistry."
