Following vice captain Danny Bath's visit to a budding young footballer from Darlaston, goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell and striker Leon Clarke went back to school to help out a group of year eight students at Deansfield Community School.

Head of year eight at the school, Miss Amy Lockley, made a request for the visit through the Wolves' Wishes scheme, where players surprise fans who have a story of great loyalty, going out of their way to help others or are in need of a boost just before Christmas.

They gave the pupils some Wolves goodies, match tickets and the promise of a trip to the Compton Park training ground in the New Year.

Miss Lockley said: "As the boys' year leader I have been working with them on confidence, communication and friendship issues.

"I thought that getting to meet some really positive role models would be a confidence boost for them.

"We spent some time planning the questions for the players and it has been a really great afternoon.

"The messages from the players were really positive and will have given the boys something to think about.

"I know they are really excited about visiting the training ground."

Wolves Community Trust led a Q&A session in which the Wolves players passed on their experiences both growing up at school and in football.

For 29 year old Clarke, it was a return to his former school.

The boys said: "We asked the players' questions and their answers will inspire us.

"It gives us a good boost of confidence and we know we have to try really hard to get grades at school to try and get our dream job.

"It was good fun."

Stars from Kenny Jackets team, who currently sit 12th in the Championship following an away win at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, will be taking more Wolves' Wishes requests throughout the week.
