The live-wire forward has not played since the October 25 victory at Leeds because of a nagging hamstring injury.

But head coach Kenny Jackett today confirmed Dicko and defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell could both be set for comebacks when Brighton visit Molineux on Saturday.

Both will train this week before Jackett decides whether they are fit enough to feature.

Either way, the duo have a good chance to be involved in the Christmas games, when Wolves go to Watford on Boxing Day and then entertain Brentford two days later.

Jackett said: "We'll see how they train this week. I wouldn't necessarily say they will be back – it's a bit too early to assess that. By Thursday or Friday I will know.

"I certainly hope they will be back for the Christmas games and I'm hopeful for this weekend, but I'm not certain.

"It would be a terrific boost. To get Ethan and Nouha back into the squad would be fantastic."

Dicko has missed seven matches while Ebanks-Landell has been sidelined for the last three games after hurting his hamstring in the defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Jackett dismissed speculation that Leon Clarke came close to leaving the club during the loan window.

The 29-year-old striker scored just seconds after coming off the substitutes' bench on Saturday to end Wolves' run of five successive defeats at Sheffield Wednesday.

And despite being linked with a move away from Molineux, Jackett insists he never had any intention of letting the striker leave.

He said: "That's been an area for us where we haven't had enough experience or enough options, in our front-line, so Clarke going hasn't been an option."
