From within sight of the Championship summit, Wolves' run of five successive defeats has knocked them down to 13th place before they head to Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Jackett has been bitterly disappointed by the run of results and admitted to some sleepless nights but there's no threat to his position as head coach.

And, after talks with owner Morgan, Jackett is satisfied he will continue to back him.

He said: "The chairman has been frustrated like all of us, and disappointed with results, definitely. But also, like everybody, at the club, he is fully determined to put things on the right track."

Jackett feels there is plenty to build on after last week's positive display against Bournemouth when they visit Hillsborough tomorrow.

Wednesday manager Stuart Gray claimed Wolves will be a 'wounded animal' and Jackett is sure his players will be fired up, especially after the controversial manner of last week's defeat.

He said: "We hope that's the case, because they say a wounded animal is a dangerous one. From our point of view, we are hurting, we are hurting with the results.

"It's only performances that get you out of that and we have to concentrate on putting on a performance and making sure we are as competitive as we possibly can be.

"We set some standards on Saturday and felt it was a better performance than recent weeks. If we keep doing that, we will be in for some points."

He added: "We are determined and very focused on breaking this run and starting to earn some points."

Hillsborough has been a happy hunting ground for Wolves over the years.

Remarkably, it is 50 years since the Molineux men last lost at the home of Wednesday, with 15 subsequent meetings yielding seven wins and eight draws.
