Hause, 19, has been recalled by Jackett from his loan to League One Gillingham after an injury to Ebanks-Landell.

Ebanks-Landell came off with a hamstring strain in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest and Danny Batth is one booking away from a suspension.

Left-footed Hause has played 14 of Gillingham's 18 League One games and has been a regular for England Under-20s in recent internationals.

And Jackett feels the youngster is ready for second-tier football as Wolves for answers after conceding 10 goals in their last three games.

The head coach said: "Yes I do – he's close and he's close to my thinking anyway,. I've been very impressed with him.

"He has the size and the physique and another thing which is priceless as a centre-back is he's left-footed.

"At times distribution-wise, we've struggled down that channel at times. The disadvantage is a lack of Championship experience but everyone's got to start somewhere.

"He's played a number of games for England Under-20s this season and played regularly for Gillingham so he won't be short of match practice.

"Like all of our loan players, we've watched his development and I've been impressed by what he's done.

"It's slightly premature but I have my reasons. We've been conceding a lot of goals and so things need to change."

Left-footed centre-back Hause, who cost £175,000 when he was signed from Wycombe last January, could be in line for his senior Wolves debut as soon as this weekend.

Richard Stearman has been overlooked to start recently and Sam Ricketts has been preferred at full-back.

Jackett's side are now preparing to go to Brentford on Saturday, before hosting Bournemouth the following weekend.

And Jackett has also acted now to allow the Gills to sign a replacement, with Thursday's deadline for loan signings looming.

He added: "The original plan was to leave him there up until Christmas and we're a bit early now but the loan window allows them to bring someone in.

As for Ebanks-Landell, Jackett said: "He won't be training this week."

Meanwhile, Wolves Under-21s take on Villa in the Premier League Under-21s Cup tonight at AFC Telford United tonight. Kick off is at 7pm.
