Wolves loan flop Yannick Sagbo has been recalled by Hull City.

The 26-year-old striker has been criticised by head coach Kenny Jackett for failing to make an impact.

Sagbo, who came to Molineux on a three-month loan, made just one start and three substitute's appearances after arriving on September 30.

The Tigers were able to recall the Ivory Coast international after 28 days but had relented in doing so until now, even with Nikica Jekavic out injured with the powerful striker lacking match fitness.

The exit of Sagbo is the latest blow Jackett has struggled with his attacking options since the summer.

He missed out on a succession of forwards including Callum Wilson, Chris Wood, Patrick Bamford and Andy Delort before the transfer window shut.

Jackett even recalled the then untried Liam McAlinden from his loan at Fleetwood to play ahead of Sagbo.

Nouha Dicko was playing the lone frontman role until missing the last three games with tight hamstrings, leaving Leon Clarke and the inexperienced McAlinden as the only options.

And with Sagbo gone, speculation will increase as to whether he is about to strengthen his attack again.

Wolves have been linked with Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle and Eagles boss Neil Warnock confessed "three or four Championship clubs" had enquired about the record signing's availability.

But Warnock said: "Dwight is going nowhere because he's far too important to us."
