Jackett's side went to fellow promotion contenders Derby this lunchtime without Dicko for the third game in a row.

The 22-year-old striker has been ruled out until at least the visit of Nottingham Forest on November 22 after missing the Birmingham and Ipswich matches with a tight hamstring.

Head coach Jackett has tried Leon Clarke and Liam McAlinden in the lone striker role without the same impact, while on-loan Yannick Sagbo is out of favour and not match-fit.

Wolves also have to cope without Dave Edwards, who damaged medial knee ligaments at Ipswich in midweek.

The Molineux boss wants to shake his forward line up in January and admits they miss four-goal Dicko.

"We've found him hard to replace and in terms of a like-for-like striker, he's been quite key for us," said Jackett. "We don't quite look the same team when he hasn't played.

"Do we need more striking options and more goalscoring options? Yes.

"But that's the challenge to overcome and make sure we're not necessarily be reliant on one player."

Jackett missed out on several strikers in the summer transfer window, including Callum Wilson, Andy Delort, Patrick Bamford and Chris Wood.

But he believes Wolves will remain in the shake-up to go up.

"We're three points off the top so we don't feel there's an insurmountable gap," he said. "There are areas we need to improve, but we're handily placed."
