And one of Wolves' homegrown products, captain Danny Batth, made the day of many a follower by posing for photographs.

Players signed autographs and were happy to pose for pictures with the hundreds young supporters and their parents who turned out for an hour-long open training session at the ground.

"It was good, there were a lot of young supporters down there and it was interesting to hear the views of everyone," said Jackett.

"There were plenty of autograph requests and pictures too – it's amazing now, everyone wants a picture with the kids!

"But it was really good to see everyone."

Captain Danny Batth was joined by his team-mates as they swapped their Compton training pitches for the real thing with a rare session at Molineux.

Batth took to Twitter to retweet a number of selfies with the public, as did fan favourites Nouha Dicko and Bakary Sako.

Skipper Batth also believes match-winner Leon Clarke is "misunderstood" after his exploits at the weekend.

Clarke came on at half-time for Dave Edwards and helped transform the game with the 85th-minute winner as Wolves came from behind to beat Leeds 2-1.

"Throughout his career Leon's been misunderstood – he's a great lad and everyone in the dressing room loves him," said Batth. "We're all happy that he got his goal and hopefully it's the start of good things to come from him."

Clarke's goal was only his second in 21 appearances since his return to the club from Coventry in January.

But Batth believes Clarke will come good, adding: "Leon's experienced and he'll always get you a goal. He had a point to prove on Saturday and he did that for the away fans.

"He provided us with a different angle of attack really and the lads played excellently – it was probably as good as we've been away from home all season."

Batth reckons the winner at Leeds shows Clarke has come through a test of character and was a reflection on the determination of the team after they came from behind to win.

"That's just a mark of his professionalism really," he said. "Leon's kept his head down and kept working hard.

"It wasn't just him – I thought James Henry was brilliant right through the second half and Ethan Ebanks-Landell as well. The team as a whole was outstanding in the second half."
