James Henry helps out Wolves fan's cause

A Wolves fan has received a helping hand from winger James Henry to help a close relative's fight against Alzheimer's and dementia.

Andy Hunt, 22 from Penkridge, is trying to raise funds for his granddad James Preston, who is a former Molineux groundsman and 91 from Fordhouses, to assist with his care.

Henry kindly donated a pair of his boots to be auctioned off for the good cause.

"I remember my granddad saying to me he worked at the club when Billy Wright and Stan Cullis were about," said Hunt.

"He will be 92 next month and he worked at Molineux in the 'Cow Shed days', as he used to say. James Henry has just been kind enough to donate these boots for this charity.

"My granddad is my idol, my hero and to think he won't even remember who he is or even his family breaks my heart more than you can imagine.

"My granddad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in March.

"After three years of constant suffering with what we were advised to be recurring water infections through having a permanent catheter fitted, my granddad suffered with hallucinations, mood swings, dizzy spells and falls.

"We were told these were side effects of the water infections. But on further probing of the doctors we got a diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia.

"We were all heartbroken as we knew what we were to face for the future. I'm determined to try to make a difference to all those who suffer with this terrible disease.

"I want to help raise money for the research and care of dementia patients and help for the families."
