James Henry's point to prove at Millwall
Wolves winger James Henry can show Millwall hes on his way to becoming a Premier League player.Thats the view of Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett, who like Henry, returns to the New Den on Saturday for the first time since leaving.
Henry lost his place to Rajiv Van La Parra against Wigan last time out, but is hoping for a recall against one of his former clubs.
Jackett said: "First off, his aims now are to get in the side and stay in the team and then after that, like everyone, I think the important thing is to aim for the Premier League.
Hes no different to any of us - you must have that aspiration, to try to be a Premier League player.
But Henry, who scored against his first club Reading in Wolves last away game, has been told to expect stick against his old side.
Jackett said: I think hed rather play than be sub - it can be tough for subs at Millwall! The banter there is very sharp. Hes looking forward to it and Im sure hell get a good reception.
Just generally, hes in quite good form. Hes fought back from the start of the season and theres been quite a battle between him and Rajiv.
Theyre different types of players but both have been effective this season and Ive been pleased with both of them.
Jackett insists Henry, who helped Millwall to promotion to the Championship and played around 150 games for the Lions, has nothing to prove to them.
The Wolves boss said: He did very well there for a number of years then I think with the change of manager, for whatever reason, they fell out.
He got the move here and its been a really good one for him. Its kicked him on again and his challenge now is to try to impose himself on the Championship.
Hes made a bright start and lets see if he can have a bright season for Wolves at this level.
Im sure he must have played 200 games now he certainly played for three years in the Championship and he played regularly in it and played well.
