Spirited Wolves trailed at the break after arguably their worst first half of the season to lead 2-1 and 3-2 before Glenn Murray's wonder strike saw them come away with a point.

First goals of the season from former Reading man James Henry and man of the match Lee Evans, plus one from Dave Edwards ensured Jackett's side remained third in the Championship table before home games this week against Huddersfield on Wednesday and Wigan on Saturday.

Jackett was disappointed to be denied victory so late but was full of praise for his sides' recovery.

"It was a bit of an awakening to the Championship, with the pace of it, and the physicality of it, which we have to handle," he said.

"There's an attitude and a spirit you need if you're going to be successful, and we had that in abundance, as well as no little quality.

"I'm very pleased we scored three times away from home and didn't fold at half-time and came roaring back."

Wolves doubled the number of goals they had conceded all season prior to the game after their mean machine misfired somewhat at the Madejski.

Jackett insists Wolves are on course for their promotion aim despite missing the chance to go joint top.

"We'd love to be top – that's our aim and our aspiration but we played our part in a fantastic game with Reading and a very good part of that as well," he added.
