Wolves go into Sunday's clash at Reading in third place but with only six teams to have scored fewer than their tally of eight, which is the lowest in the top half of the table.

The head coach wants the load spread but believes several players are on the verge of filling their boots.

He said: "Would we like to score more goals? Yes we would, but we have a number of players who we feel are on the brink of breaking through to getting goals. A number of our players feel a goal is due.

"That's our aim and it's also to not lose anything we've got, because we've been reasonably good but we want to see if we can just open things up in terms of scoring more goals."

Jackett believes midfielder Lee Evans, who has been unlucky three times in the last two games, and full-backs Matt Doherty and Scott Golbourne can get on the scoresheet.

He said: "Goals have to be spread around. Evans has improved a lot and he's getting into some advanced positions and there are goals in him.

"He has the shooting ability and in the right circumstances and roles to be released to get goals.

"That shouldn't be at the detriment of what we do defensively but if he comes too deep too consistently it does take away a creative spark going forwards because he's capable of scoring, and adding goals to his game.

"'Doc' gets into some good positions and he's been unlucky not to score. I was talking to him on Tuesday morning and he feels he has some goals due.

"I want him to keep coming out from the back and making the play. Scott is the same and it's a big strength of theirs. My way would be to push on and try to win 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 if we can."

Meanwhile, Nouha Dicko (hamstring) is expected to be fit for Reading after he came off against Bolton.

Jackett said: "I'm sure the extra day will help and, if he can come back training tomorrow, he'll be fine.
