The midfielder, who joined from Tottenham in 2011, had barely featured since Wolves' relegation from the Championship in 2013.

O'Hara, a pariah among supporters following the club's 2013 relegation from the Championship, had made just two substitute appearances under current head coach Kenny Jackett.

Problems with fitness had seen him take a three-week intensive training course in America, while he also had an unsuccessful trial at Blackpool last season.

But the 27-year-old's relationship with QPR boss Harry Redknapp, who managed him at both Tottenham and Portsmouth, has landed him the chance to possibly even earn a short-term deal.

Redknapp is lighter than usual for players in the middle of the park, with Jermaine Jenas and Alejandro Faurlin both on the long-term injury list.
