The 25-year-old impressed after being handed his first Championship start of the season at Charlton, hitting the post in the 1-1 draw.

Henry made 34 appearances for Wolves last term, netting 10 goals, but until Tuesday night had to make do with appearances off the bench as he found himself behind newcomer Rajiv Van La Parra in the pecking order.

Jackett has been impressed by the way Henry has fought for his place and believes Wolves now have healthy competition for places on the flanks.

"He'd been pushing hard for a start which is what he should be doing," said Jackett. "Van La Parra has been very good and given us pace and energy.

"Henry is a different type of player – he has closer control, he's an early crosser and can come up with a goal.

"He's played very well and is showing that he's really fighting for his place, so it's good competition.

"James has put in some good performances from wide right and we've seen the same from Rajiv Van La Parra, so it's a strong position for us and we're pleased with both of them."

Another area where Jackett has no shortage of options is in the middle of the park after he praised the performance of George Saville at Charlton despite sacrificing the midfielder at half-time to introduce striker Nouha Dicko.

"He played very well and was always involved the game," he said. "He showed a few moments of class. He'll be a good addition for us."

When asked if having the likes of Saville and Lee Evans available gives him something of a dilemma, the head coach replied: "Not really, it gives us good depth. If we're looking at a squad of 20 players you want it as strong as possible.

"Everyone is fit and available but realism tells me it won't always be the case. To have as many good players out of the team as in it is your objective as head coach."
