The side, spearheaded by West Brom striker Saido Berahino, will take on their Croatian counterparts at Molineux, in the first game of the contest on a date yet to be decided.

Gareth Southgate's men remained unbeaten during the league stage - winning nine out of their 10 matches as they topped Group One.

Each group winner was seeded for the play-off draw which took place in Nyon, Switzerland today with the teams who finished second in their respective groups unseeded.

Wolves last hosted an England Under-21 fixture in 2008 against Poland with stars such as England's current No 1, Joe Hart, on show.

Jez Moxey, chief executive of Wolves and who is also an FA Council Member, said: "We're delighted that Molineux has been awarded this prestigious international fixture by the FA.

"It's a fitting accolade as we celebrate 125 years of league football at Molineux, reflecting both the quality of our Stadium and the ability of our staff to help deliver a very important, competitive fixture for the Football Association and England U21 set-up.

"With the emphasis of the senior men's side very much on young players, this is a great opportunity for supporters to see the full England international stars of the future.

"We have an excellent relationship with the FA and we'll be working hard with them to put on a great, family orientated event at Molineux, which will also be an excellent showcase for the city of Wolverhampton as a whole."
