The centre-half, one of the 'Group Three gang', played alongside Kevin Doyle, Kevin Foley, Stephen Ward and Tongo Doumbia as goals from O'Hara (2), Doyle and Liam McAlinden sealed the win.

Gilles Ruyssen also got a 45-minute run-out – replacing Johnson at half-time – after boss Kenny Jackett invited the Gent centre-back for a trial.

The 20-year-old could yet fit he bill with the head coach looking for a defender, after his failed bid for Harry Maguire.

Johnson was set to miss the game with an ankle knock, but started the match at the Deva Stadium against Steve Burr's side.
