Nouha Dicko today flashed a message of gratitude to Wolves boss Kenny Jackett by insisting: “We will repay your faith."Six days before the Championship opener against Norwich, head coach Jackett has so far added just two players to his League One-winning squad in Tommy Rowe and Rajiv Van La Parra.

Jackett still wants to add two more signings including a striker before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

One of his targets, Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, is poised to join Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

But Dicko believes he and his team-mates won’t let Jackett down after being given the chance to spearhead another promotion push.

“I think a lot of other promoted teams maybe would have tried to sign four, five, six players but our manager has trust in us, said Dicko.

“I hope we can reward him and play really well and show him he was right to put his trust in us.

“We’ve seen it before with Norwich and Southampton – they had good players and got promoted twice in a row and I think it’s the same for us.

“We feel maybe we could be going in the same direction but only the season will tell and hopefully we can do well.”

Wolves completed their seven-match warm-up unbeaten following Saturday’s stormy 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo.

Dicko insists they are ready for the big kick-off, which sees Norwich at Molineux for a televised game on Sunday.

“It’s going to be different because it’s the first game with a lot of expectation coming, but we’re ready for Norwich and we’re all looking forward to it,” he said.

“We’ve played against a lot of lower division teams and sides at our level have drawn and lost against that type of opposition.

“Celta Vigo offered a different type of test but it was a good examination against a good team.”

“They have a lot of quality and technical ability and they had a lot of the ball, but we did well.

“Although they had a lot of the ball, we played well and showed some quality.”

And he was delighted to have scored again after making it four in six friendlies.

“As a striker, you’re always happy to score,” he said.

“Even if it wasn’t the hardest chance, you have to be there.”
