Nouha Dicko today insisted he can take the pressure of being Wolves' chief marksman in the Championship.

The powerful Frenchman got off the mark for pre-season in last night's 4-1 friendly win at Shamrock Rovers.

All three senior Wolves strikers scored in the same game for the first time with Liam McAlinden and Leon Clarke also on target.

Head coach Kenny Jackett is desperate to add some more firepower with Leicester's Chris Wood believed to be at the head of the queue once the Foxes get their targets.

But 22-year-old Dicko, who scored 13 goals in 19 games for Wolves last season, reckons he can withstand the goalscoring burden at the higher level.

"When you get expectations on you it's because you've done well," said the former Wigan forward.

"Every striker likes to have this pressure because it's a good pressure wanting you to do well and score goals again.

"I'm really looking forward to it and am relishing the pressure of trying to score some goals.

"I've enjoyed the two games so far and it was nice to get off the mark against Shamrock.

"Now I just want to continue that, get better and stronger to be ready for the first game against Norwich."

Dicko has caught the eye in the Championship before, netting nine goals in just six starts in two loan spells at Blackpool.

"I've already played in the Championship and managed to score some goals so I know a bit about the league," he said.

"We have the quality to do well and hopefully I can be part of that.

"It's a tough league but I think we have a lot of Championship players here and maybe even Premier League players.

"We all want to do well in the Championship. I think we have some good quality and everybody is ready.

"The atmosphere and team spirit is very good and hopefully we can have another successful season."
