Wolves' performance was better than the male streaker as they recorded a routine win over the fringe players and trialists of Shamrock Rovers.

Thankfully, goals by Leon Clarke, Liam McAlinden and Nouha Dicko overshadowed the cameo from a portly bare-chested Rovers fan.

He ran onto the pitch waving a home shirt around his head shortly after the hour mark, before Bakary Sako added a last-gasp penalty.

With head coach Kenny Jackett again opting to play first and second choice sides in each half, it was intriguing to see new signing Rajiv Van La Parra catch the eye for the 'reserves.'

While the 'shadow' defence is in its infancy in more ways than one, the flying Dutchman impressed as he used his pace to continually drive in the first 45 minutes.

But Wolves had to come from behind to secure an ultimately comfortable and second successive friendly win.

There was a long delay after about only 30 seconds when defender Tom Morris, who was on trial, was stretchered off with concussion after receiving a heavy blow to the nose.

When the action eventually resumed, it was the home side who settled quickest, impressive striker Ciaran Kilduff seeing a shot blocked by debutant Kortney Hause.

He recovered well after Kilduff had been left in the clear with only goalkeeper Aaron McCarey to beat, Ethan Ebanks-Landell knocking the ball out for a corner.

From the resulting flag kick, Rovers took a ninth-minute lead when McCarey dropped former Leeds United and Cardiff City midfielder Stephen McPhail's set-piece and Kirk Millar tapped home.

Wolves, with debutant van La Parra a driving force, gradually got themselves back into the game to hold the upper hand.

The flying Dutchman saw a fierce drive fizz just wide after cutting in from the left.

Then Leon Clarke was denied by a superb save by goalkeeper Craig Hyland after the striker flicked the ball up and created an angle, when first-half captain Matt Doherty crossed from the right.

Clarke levelled in the 24th minute following a lovely move, which Doherty started with a probing ball that split the defence for Liam McAlinden.

He exchanged passes with Clarke to put him through before the latter buried a low effort to Hyland's left.

Four minutes later, Wolves went ahead, albeit in fortunate circumstances. There seemed no danger when Hyland collected a backpass.

He mis-controlled the ball and McAlinden was onto it in a flashst, acting fa to tap into the empty net from 15 yards.

Chances at both ends came as Gary McCabe saw a rasping drive bounce just wide with McCarey at full stretch.

McAlinden then picked his spot with a header from Van La Parra's left-wing centre only for the ball to hit the foot of the post.

Kevin Foley, playing left-back, did superbly in the next Wolves move, dispossessing a defender then spotting the run of McAlinden behind the last man.

The Cannock youngster was only denied by the hand of Hyland, tipping wide in a one against one.

McAlinden gained another sight of goal before the break when he was left clean through again and opted to hit his shot early, but poked it straight at Hyland.

Wolves, with their first-choice side on after the break, picked up where they left off as they almost made it 3-1.

Sako's outrageous back-heel flick was smothered on the line by a grateful Hyland, from Dicko's cross-shot.

The visitors should have increased their lead on 56 minutes when Dave Edwards skied over, after the unmarked Dicko headed Sam Ricketts' cross back across goal.

Kevin McDonald saw a first-time snapshot tipped wide by substitute goalkeeper Conor O'Malley before Wolves made it 3-1 in the 70th minute.

Again it was a well-worked goal, Danny Batth charging upfield before finding Michael Jacobs ahead of him.

The midfielder spotting the run of Edwards on the left, for a cross stabbed in off the post by Dicko. Wolves remained in control and made it 4-1 in the last minute of normal time.

Sako confidently drove home from the spot, after Robert Bayly tripped Jacobs as he ran in from just in front of the byline.

Wolves first-half (4-2-3-1): McCarey; Doherty, Ebanks-Landell, Hause, Foley; Price, Weeks; Henry (Bancessi 41), Clarke, Van La Parra; McAlinden.

Wolves second-half (4-2-3-1): Ikeme; Ricketts, Batth, Stearman, Golbourne; McDonald, Evans; Jacobs, Edwards, Sako; Dicko.
