It's Germany for Wolves boss Kenny Jackett

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett today backed Germany to win the World Cup – but admitted he won't be using their model in the Championship.

The Germans have got the public's vote ahead of tomorrow's final against Argentina in Rio de Janeiro for their highly efficient, high pressing game which saw them demolish hosts Brazil 7-1 in the semi-finals.

Jackett has been hugely impressed by Joachim Low's side and believes they will offer managers around the world food for thought.

"It's been a great World Cup and the Germans have been very good," said the Molineux head coach.

"It will be an interesting final and I'm sure a lot of international managers and coaches will sit looking at that blueprint and see if they can copy it.

"But I'm not an international manager and I also realise the equation to win the World Cup won't be the same as the one to get out of the Championship.

"I'm realistic enough to do that."

Jackett is very impressed with certain individuals in the German side.

"The keeper Manuel Neuer looks fantastic - he looks like he could play centre-half!" he said.

"He comes out of his box and is very confident and genuinely hard to beat.

"With Thomas Muller those two look really top class in a very strong midfield.

"I've seen every German game and the transition from Philipp Lahm to full-back has helped them, although he played very well in midfield as well.

"It was interesting to read Pep Guardiola's comments that technically he's the best player he's ever worked with – that's some statement.

"Moving him to full-back has helped because it's allowed Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose to come into midfield and they can do a little bit of everything: They can defend, run, pass and score."
