He will compete for a place with James Henry, Bakary Sako, Michael Jacobs and Eusebio Bancessi for a place in the team.

"I've heard supporters here like to see wingers – hopefully they will like me as well," he said.

"I think I'm a player who always wants to search for the one-against-one opportunities. I love football and I don't want to stay too long without the ball.

"For me that's the most important thing because I'm the attacker and I search for that chance when I can.

"I also need to get some good crosses in for the strikers and also to score some goals and be an important player for Wolves. What do the coaches expect of me here? I think I have to show them."

Van la parra believes he is joining a team on its way up. "I heard it's a young team here which is good," he said.

"Young players always want to do well and improve and they have a lot of potential to grow.

"I'm a young player and I want to grow with the team. Hopefully we can go to the Premier League."

Van la Parra is relishing joining up with his new team-mates on June 25.

for the start of pre-season training.

"It's good for me that there isn't long before we come back for pre-season," he said.
