Wolves today announced their annual prestige home pre-season friendly ahead will see top-flight Spanish outfit Celta Vigo visit Molineux on Saturday, August 2.

Vigo finished ninth in La Liga last season, enjoying a strong finish to the season which included a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on the penultimate weekend to end the title hopes of Carlo Ancelotti's Champions League winners.

And a sign of their ability was seen recently with the news that their manager Luis Enrique was to join Barcelona.

The visit of Celta Vigo will be Wolves' seventh pre-season friendly and completes the arrangements for their warm-up programme.

Vigo will become the latest of a long line of Spanish opposition to visit Molineux in recent years for the final warm-up game before the big kick-off a week later.

In 2009 Wolves lost 2-0 to Real Valladolid, and the following season they beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 and then Real Zaragoza 2-0 in 2011.

Last summer saw Kenny Jackett's first game at Molineux finish in an entertaining 3-2 defeat at the hands of Real Betis.

Ticket information for the friendly will be announced when finalised with tickets going on sale on Monday, July 14.

The Billy Wright and Stan Cullis Stands will be open for the fixture.
