Wolves see off New York fans mob
Wolves today tackled a group of American soccer 'hooligans' who had hijacked the club's famous logo to support a new multi-million dollar New York franchise.
The Wall Street Hooligans group has used a version of the Molineux badge in its 'official' crest.
The fans of new club New York City FC, which has close links to Manchester City, coloured the badge blue in the new club's colours and claim the design was inspired by the hit film The Wolf of Wall Street.
But they reckoned without the sharp eyes of Wolves fans who immediately reacted angrily to another club 'stealing' their badge.
Molineux officials were quick to act and told the Americans to stop using the logo - or face legal action.
The New York group quickly backed down and removed the badge from their online activity.
A Wolves spokesman said this afternoon: "We were alerted to the badge of a supporters group in New York called the Wall Street Hooligans, which clearly utilises part of the Club's iconic crest.
"The use of the image alongside that wording is clearly inappropriate so we asked the group via Twitter to remove the badge and are pleased that it is no longer available to be viewed. "

A page on Twitter called Wall St Hooligans (WallStHooligans) has now been taken down. But the group's Twitter profile still remains and the group describes itself as: "We are the Wall Street Hooligans! A supporters group for New York's own NYCFC. New York City."
New York City FC play in Major League Soccer and has just signed Spanish World Cup winning superstar David Villa from Atletico Madrid.
Wolves fan Sam Fleming said: "I was browsing the New York City FC Twitter during my lunch hour - as you do - and noticed they had followed this supporter's club. "Obviously, when I saw the badge alarm bells rang straight away. My first instinct was to e-mail the club and tweet a picture too, of course. Thankfully the club seem to have taken notice!"
