Wolves were today in the running for two more accolades after being nominated for manager and player of the month for League One.

Hot on the heels of having five players selected in the PFA's League One team of the year and winning the title, head coach Kenny Jackett and midfielder Dave Edwards have been selected for top manager and player respectively for April.

Jackett, who won the award for March after steering the side to a club record nine consecutive wins, is up for the gong again after guiding Wolves to 14 points from six unbeaten games which confirmed promotion, the title and saw them reach 100 points.

The Molineux chief, who has steered his side to four wins and two draws, is up against Sheffield United's Nigel Clough again, Darren Ferguson of Peterborough and Oldham boss Lee Johnson.

Clough maintained his side's focus after losing their FA Cup semi-final 5-3 to Hull by gaining five points from three unbeaten games against promotion-chasing trio Brentford, Leyton Orient and Rotherham.

Ferguson inspired Posh to five wins from seven and 13 goals scored to earn a play-off place.

Johnson helped low-budget Oldham secured their League One status following 1-0 away victories at relegation rivals Colchester and Carlisle.

Edwards scored in four games - including the 2-0 victory at Crewe which sealed promotion - to take his tally to six in nine games and nine in just 21 starts this season.

The Wales international faces competition from Rotherham winger Kieran Agard, who bagged five goals in six games, including a hat-trick in the Millers' 6-4 defeat at Molineux on Good Friday as well as the only goal against Port Vale to take his tally to 25 this season.

Preston midfielder Paul Gallagher and Notts County midfielder Jack Grealish complete the nominations.

Galllagher netted four of the 14 Preston scored in three home games - including a hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Shrewsbury - and set up eight more.

On-loan Villa midfielder Grealish, who is just 18, helped County to three vital home wins, creating two goals against Port Vale and another against Swindon.

All the winners will be announced tomorrow.

Jackett and keeper Carl Ikeme have also been named manager and player of the year for League One in Sky pundit Peter Beagrie's roll of honour.
