A goal shortly after the break from Norwich City's Joshua Murphy condemned Wolves Under-21s to a 1-0 defeat in the final game of the campaign.

The best chances in the first half fell to Norwich's Carlton Morris. He thundered a close-range header inches over the bar following a Ray Grant corner and, at the other end Eusebio Bancessi skipped between two defenders as he ran into the box but his cross was caught under the bar by Remi Matthews.

Shortly before half-time, Bancessi's pace took him clear of his marker as he ran in along the by-line. His pull back fell to Ben O'Hanlon who chose to check and cross rather than shooting and Ibrahim Keita was wide with his header.

In the second half, two early Anthony Forde corners had the Canaries defence at full stretch until the danger was finally cleared and it was Norwich's Murphy that broke the deadlock in the 50th minute as he drove the ball past Jon Flatt from the edge of the box.

Wolves went in search of a quick response and Bancessi worked his way into a shooting position but his effort was blocked.

Robbie Parry and Carlo Erdei then enjoyed a run-out, replacing Albert Torras and Sam Whittall. Bancessi's late challenge on Bennett sparked a melee and both were cautioned.
