Woffinden, the first British world champion in over a decade, will appear as a late substitute in Jody Craddock's testimonial game which features a Wolves XI v Sunderland XI at Molineux on Monday, May 5 (2pm).

He will also appear at half-time on his bike to do a lap of the Molineux pitch in front of what is expected to be a big crowd.

Craddock won promotion with both Wolves and Sunderland during a fine career and was a solid, reliable defender for both clubs.

A host of former team-mates from both clubs will turn out to pay tribute to Craddock and a portion of the profits from the game will go to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Wolves Speedway rider Woffinden said : "I'm really looking forward to this. It's going to be a great experience and I'm so looking forward to putting the football boots on!

"I'm extremely honoured to play some small part in Jody Craddock's big day and I hope plenty of speedway supporters come along and see me.

"I've never played competitively so it will be interesting and a lot of fun. I will be coming in towards the end of the game.

"I'd also like to congratulate Wolverhampton Wanderers FC on winning promotion back to the Championship."
