Wolves wary of Crewe threat

Wolves were today warned they must be wary of Crewe's powerful edge tomorrow.

The Railwaymen have long held a tradition for free-flowing football but have opted for a more direct approach this term.

On loan Watford striker Uche Ikpeazu and Arsenal counterpart, 16-goal Chuks Aneke are both more than six feet tall and Kenny Jackett expects a tough assignment for his defence.

"Crewe have gone a bit more direct now with some power up front," said the Wolves head coach.

"The boy from Watford (Ikpeazu) has come in with Aneke and they also have Brad Inman and Byron Moore, so they have some pace and power which you maybe wouldn't always associate with a Crewe side."

Jackett says anything gained from tomorrow's game will be hard-earned as he acknowledges both teams are desperate for the points.

While Wolves could clinch promotion depending on Rotherham's result at home to Bradford tonight, the hosts find themselves struggling at the wrong end of the table.

The Cheshire club are currently in the League One relegation zone on goal difference with five games left to play.
