Leicester had the better of the play with the only surprise being that it took until the 55th minute to score, with Harry Panayoitou bagging the winner.

Jamie O'Hara got another run-out in front of 230 people but it was a disappointing night for the youngsters.

Wolves' only threats of the first half came from midfielder Tim Jakobsson, who was playing left-back. The Swede headed straight at keeper Adam Smith on 35 from Robbie Parry's cross then sliced well wide three minutes later.

Watson fired first time straight at Jon Flatt from a pull-back from Tom Hopper.

Wolves had a rare opening on 50 when Sam Whittall's shot deflected wide off Kennedy.

But Leicester took the lead when right winger Panayoitou followed up to slot home after Flatt had denied Cain's shot.

In the mini-derby at Villa Park, a late brace from Callum Robinson saw Villa beat Albion's youngsters 2-1.

Robinson put Villa ahead in the second half and, after Alex Jones pulled Albion level, he bagged the winner.
