Wolves Under-21s secured a fine win as they withstood Bolton's comeback to win 3-2 at the County Ground in Leyland last night.

Anthony Forde, Eusebio Bancessi and Bradley Reid were on target while Jamie O'Hara had 90 minutes as he tries to attract a loan move before Thursday's deadline.

Wolves went ahead on 27 minutes when Forde beat goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett with a fierce, long-range drive.

Two minutes later, they doubled their lead when winger Bancessi powered forwards and lashed home a stunning shot.

Sam Whittall and Forde both went close before Bolton pulled one back when Georg Iliev broke free and slotted past Jon Flatt on 53.

Bolton's comeback was almost completed four minutes later as Chris Lester's ball across the face of goal eluded the Wolves defence, but Iliev was unable to connect.

Lester himself almost netted shortly after as he let fly from distance, but Flatt was equal to his effort.

But Wolves punished the hosts against the run of play when substitute Reid slotted home from close range on 71.

The home side weren't finished however, with Zach Clough heading home from close range for Bolton's second to set up a grandstand finish with 13 minutes left.

Iliev looked to have rescued a point late on but headed a golden chance over.
