Wolves were today fined £2,500 by the Football Association after they picked up six bookings during Saturday's 2-0 win at Sheffield United.

The sanction is the standard punishment set down by football's governing body for any club that incurs a minimum of five cautions in a single game.

The news comes as frustrated Kenny Jackett claimed Premier League referees are under more pressure in League One.

The head coach felt the refereeing of Premier League whistler Kevin Friend was "all one way" at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

"It's frustrating for us to get a fine but it's uncharacteristic of our season," said Jackett.

"I've looked at the bookings all individually and all I can say is it's not something that happens regularly to us.

"It felt as if it was going all one way, but that's the way it was going to be."

Jackett believes games at League One level are handled differently if a Premier League official is in charge – because of the pressure they are under.

"There is a difference and referees in the lower divisions let games flow a lot more than the Premier League boys, who are being analysed to a higher degree than the guys lower down," he said.

"They say it's tough sometimes for the Premier League referees to come down to League One because they're under a lot more pressure, as they're very well known.

"But you can't change the referee, so you have to deal with it.

"The quicker you get back and make sure if that ball's coming into your box, you deal with it, you don't turn your back and don't still be moaning at the referee, the better."

Jackett believes the bookings count was a reflection of the way Wolves were penalised throughout the game.

"The free-kick count was 17-3 against us," he said.
