Danny Batth today insisted Wolves playmaker Kevin McDonald will show Sheffield United on Saturday he was right to swap Bramall Lane for Molineux.

McDonald prepares to make his first return to Bramall Lane since joining Wolves for a bargain £250,000 in August.

"Their fans will be backing their own team but I'm sure Kev will show what a good player he is and hopefully we'll get the win which will show he made the right decision," said Batth.

"Kev's a very placid, quite laid-back guy and he'll just focus on his football and doing whatever he can to win.

"They'll know what a good player he is and I don't see any reason why he won't put on his usual level of performance.

"Hopefully by the end of the season, we'll be where we want to be.

"If that's the case, that will be a reflection of Kev's efforts and the rest of the squad."

Batth is unconcerned by his own reception from the home fans and is relishing the clash between two form teams, with United having gone 11 unbeaten with 10 wins and eight consecutive clean sheets.

"It's two form teams meeting at a really good time and it will be up to us to finish on top," he said.

"I'm not too sure what reception I'll receive but whatever it is, I'll have the Wolves fans backing me anyway so I'll be fine."

Wolves have followed a club record nine-match winning run by drawing 0-0 against Shrewsbury before losing 2-1 at Crawley.

Batth is urging his team-mates to build another winning run to carry Wolves to promotion.

"We've got 10 games left and this is the time to build another winning run to finish on a high," he said.

"We're all positive because we've got a job to do and we'll be looking to bounce back straight away.

"It's times like this where we stick together and go again to try to turn it into a positive.

"It will take more than one defeat for our heads to drop because the group is so tight."
