Shrewsbury Town's Mike Jackson: Wolves are hardly Real Madrid are they?

Shrewsbury Town manager Mike Jackson today took a pop at League One table-toppers Wolves ahead of tomorrow's clash, urging his side to show no fear as they 'aren't playing Real Madrid".

Struggling Town are heavy underdogs against Kenny Jackett's title favourites in the first League meeting between the sides at Molineux since 1985.

Wolves will be bidding to extend a club record nine-match winning run against a Shrews outfit that sits one place off the bottom of League One.

But Jackson is refusing to see the task as mission impossible.

"It is going to be hard, but it is not impossible is it?" he said. "I am not being funny, but we aren't playing Real Madrid.

"We are playing a team that is in our league, so why can't we go and compete with them?

"I think we can and if we are up for it and we get a day with 11 of our lads on their game and couple of theirs maybe just off it, that might prove to be the difference.

"We have got to concentrate on us. I know every manager will say that but we want to go there and try to win the game or get a result, not just to make up the numbers.

"We are putting the game-plan together. They are a good side but we have got to put people in positions that are going to suit us, and a style of play and a system that can cause them problems as well.

"We are not going to do anything weird and wonderful and try to be smart.

"We are just going to do what's best for us and give a good account of ourselves."

Jackson is an admirer of Wolves head coach Jackett, who led former clubs Swansea and Millwall to League One promotion before taking the reins at Molineux.

And he is not surprised to see their team sitting on top of the pile in League One.

"He's a good manager, he's got promotions and he knows what he is doing," he said. "So it's no surprise to me that they are up near the top with the resources and the team they have got."

Town midfielder Dave McAllister will wear a protective face-mask to play at Molineux tomorrow.

McAllister suffered a clash of heads with team-mate Connor Goldson during Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Crawley.
