Walsall are pass masters on the ball, says Wolves boss Kenny Jackett

Kenny Jackett today admitted Wolves face a team of “terrific passers” that can propel Walsall into the play-offs.

Wolves go to the Banks’s Stadium aiming to equal a club record eight straight wins and seeking a sixth consecutive clean sheet.

Walsall go into the game in eighth place and five points off sixth-placed Peterborough with 12 games left, with Rotherham in fifth a distant 10 points further ahead.

Wolves head coach Jackett believes the Saddlers’ play-off hopes rest on chasing down sixth spot.

“They’ve done very well for the last couple of seasons but they can’t quite make that push into the play-offs,” he said.

“They’ll be having their eyes on Peterborough for the final place.

“Football-wise they’re capable of it. All the players are comfortable on the ball and they try to play the right way, through midfield.

“They’ve got a terrific passing game going there as they have done for several years now.”

What very nice comments from Mr Jackett, it goes to show that despite the local banter some people can conduct themselves in a most dignified manner and show respect for others.

It appears to me that the "excuses" for not wining have been set already, with such a quote, or is that the normal drivel from the "headline seekers" at the E&S. Lets face it IF we can't beat Walsall ( and we lost at home) then it is time to get SERIOUS, and form a team that can beat every team in such a LOW division.

You do realise that we are top of the league and playing some great football with a brand new team, full of youngsters?

Not sure if your misspelling is of winning or whining, either way you're wrong. KJ has shown us how he likes to play football and he's not afraid to compliment the opposition if they deserve it; quite right too!

Has the achievements of his team passed you by? Do you not think their possession football and resolute defence is proof they are "SERIOUS"? At some stage Wolves are likely to get beaten that's pretty certain. Very few teams over the divisions and years have been invincible. Your post is as incredible as it is naive.

I think KJ is wise to highlight the oppositions' strengths and, fortunately, I feel sure the Walsall boss will be delivering a similar message to his team about Wolves.

The 'local' factor makes this match difficult to forecast, but the difference in points between the teams is sufficient to suggest that Walsall will be the more anxious of the two sides. I certainly hope so, and also hope my belief will be justified at around 5.0pm this afternoon. Fingers crossed. :)
