Long-serving Kevin Foley today ended his long Wolves exile with a loan move to Blackpool.

The 29-year-old utility man has joined the Tangerines on a one-month emergency basis after being out in the cold this season.

It represents a fresh start for the popular former Luton right-back, whose 213 appearances for Wolves are more than anyone else currently at the club.

But he has suffered a long fall from grace since being Player of the Year in the 2008-09 Championship title-winning team.

Although recovered from a niggling ankle injury, Foley has slipped below Sam Ricketts, Matt Doherty and Ethan Ebanks-Landell in the pecking order at right-back.

The last of his seven appearances this season was on October 8 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalties defeat against Notts County.

Foley is available to make his debut at Watford on Saturday and will be in familiar company at Bloomfield Road, where former Wolves tema-mates Andy Keogh and Jack Robinson are now there, also on loan, from Millwall and Liverpool respectively.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett said: "It's a great move for Kevin.

"Right-back has been a good position for us this season.

"Sam Ricketts is currently in the team, Matt Doherty is back fully fit again and Ethan Ebanks-Landell has also moved across from centre back and done very well too.

"Kevin hasn't done anything wrong to be honest – it's just players are ahead of him –and this is a good move for him and a fresh start to get out and get playing which suits both him and Blackpool."

Foley, who has made 194 League appearances since joining from Luton for £700,000 in August 2007, stands alongside Carl Ikeme, Richard Stearman, George Elokobi, Dave Edwards, David Davis, Kevin Doyle, Anthony Forde and Jamie O'Hara to have played in three divisions for Wolves.
