Carl Ikeme returns for Wolves as Zeli Ismail looks set to extend Burton Albion loan

Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme was today set to return to full training after recovering from his broken left hand.

“Ikeme’s looking pretty good and we’re hoping he’ll be back in full training today, so he’s close to a return,” said head coach Kenny Jackett.

New signing Kortney Hause will make his Wolves debut in tonight’s Under-21s’ game against Norwich at Telford – if the game is on.

Zeli Ismail is set to have his loan at Burton Albion extended to the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old winger scored his first senior goal in the Brewers’ 1-0 win at Morecambe on Saturday after coming on as a 64th minute substitute, his fifth appearance for the League Two side.

Burton boss Gary Rowett said: “Zeli’s an amazing talent.

“I haven’t had complete confirmation but I expect him to be with us until the end of the season.”

Great news!

Mcarey has done well but that was probably down to good defending in front of him restricting our opponents to a few chances per game.

Hopefully he will go straight back in.

Any news on Jack Price contract negotiations?

McCarey has made some decent saves keeping us in matches, but we have also had the crossbar and posts rattled on numerous occasions, bailing us out. He looks a great prospect for the club at 22 and if ikeme comes back, i hope he gets a good loan deal to a league one or two team. no point him sitting on the bench

If we loan him out who is our back up??

Thats great news Ikeme is nearing a return and well done Zeli, on scoring his first league goal and getting one back over on Morecambe for us in the process.

Nice goal seeing him cut inside and finish on his left foot, nicely done, the keeper looked a bit stoked.

I am all for players getting loaned out but Wolves should stipulate two lots of criteria:-

i) If it is a player that we are looking to move on, we should be negotiating a deal for when their loan comes to an end.

ii) Players like Cassidy and Ismail should be starting - not coming off the bench - when they are at clubs below us in the league.

Great news about Ikeme - still our best player this season and last!

Cant really say whether or not our loan players will start or not mate. It's still down to the manager of the loanee club.
