Wolves' determination to stick to their guns today paid off after Celtic agreed to pay £1m for striker Leigh Griffiths.

moreThe 23-year-old is in Glasgow to agree personal terms and undergo a medical before finalising his move to the Scottish champions after the clubs finally agreed the seven-figure fee.

Wolves turned down two bids this week for the Scotland international, but they accepted the Hoops' latest offer with more than 12 hours to spare before tonight's 11pm deadline.

It means Wolves have made a handsome profit on the former Livingston striker, who they signed from Dundee for £150,000 in January 2011.

Griffiths exits Molineux as their 13-goal top scorer this season despite only starting two of the last eight games.

But head coach Kenny Jackett is confident he has the firepower at his disposal in a rapidly-changing attack after splashing out £300,000 on Nouha Dicko from Wigan and £750,000 yesterday for Coventry striker Leon Clarke.

Should the paperwork be completed, Griffiths could make his Celtic debut in Sunday's home clash against St. Mirren in the SPL.
