Wolves's Bakary Sako to stay put

Wolves winger Bakary Sako won't be signing for Nottingham Forest this transfer window – and Kenny Jackett has cast doubt on their conviction to buy him.

Sako is back in Jackett's good books for tonight's trip to Oldham after a stirring display coming off the bench in Saturday's 3-1 win against Bristol City, when he scored the third goal.

Head coach Jackett hinted the French winger felt let down by Forest's attempts to sign him in August.

"I think that's gone and I don't know whether it was really there at all," said Jackett.

The Championship club had numerous bids rejected on deadline day and refused to meet Wolves' £4m asking price then wouldn't pay a loan fee.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey eventually cut off all contact with the City Ground in exasperation after dealing with different people.

"I think that's gone and I don't know whether it was really there at all," said Jackett of Forest's interest.

"In the end he was quite disappointed and felt a little bit let down.

"He's never expressed any interest to myself, or Kevin Thelwell, or Jez (Moxey) that he dislikes the club or he dislikes being here.

"His demeanour and his manner and his body language is anything but.

"I think he enjoys Wolves, he likes being here and he's a good team-mate to the other lads.

"And with Nouha Dicko coming in they've teamed up quite well and he's helped him to settle in."

Jackett added: "He responded very well, and, when he got his chance, he scored a good goal."
